This is the toughest job because everyone who approaches SAATH is a needy child. But, there is proper screening programme and step-by-step procedure is followed before a child is adopted. When the doctors recommend a child they deem as needy, we analyse the available funds to understand if we have the resources to add another member to our family. Since SAATH adopts the children with the commitment of providing lifelong medical care, this scrutiny is very crucial. After this a visit is made to the hospital to meet the doctor, the resident social worker of the hospital, the child and his/her parents. After understanding the history and situation of the family a decision to adopt the child is made. After this a file is prepared for each child with his details, AADHAR card, ration card copy, doctor’s prescription and recommendation letter etc. From here starts our journey towards a healthier, happier life.
